A senior official with Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has warned that Yemeni Armed Forces will carry out military strikes targeting the Ben Gurion Airport and other airports across the Israeli-occupied territories in the coming hours.
Nasr al-Din Amer, deputy head of Ansarullah’s Media Authority, made the warning in a statement on Sunday, a few hours after he declared all airports across the Israeli-occupied territories unsafe zones.
“This is due to the recent Israeli escalation against the Gaza Strip and the aggression against Yemen, and in continuation of the Yemeni leadership’s decision to impose a ban on this airport and other airports, in addition to the naval blockade and closure of the Umm al-Rashrash port until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted,” he said.
The Ansaruallah official further called on all airlines remaining at the airport to depart immediately, warning all passengers, especially foreigners, to leave for their own safety.
Earlier in the day, Amer discussed plans to impose a “no-fly zone” over Israeli airports, stressing that retaliatory attacks on the occupied territories would persist until the regime ceases its aggression against Gaza.
The warning came as Yemen’s Armed Forces launched two ballistic missiles toward the occupied territories that targeted Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
Yemen’s Armed Forces have carried out pro-Gaza operations and enforced a naval blockade on Israeli ships and vessels sailing towards the territories since late 2023.
Earlier in May, Yemeni forces began imposing a comprehensive aerial blockade on the regime, too, warning international airlines to suspend flights to airports in the occupied territories to ensure passenger safety.
