OIC Secretary-General Congratulates Mr. Hussein Al-Sheikh on his Appointment as Vice-president of PLO and Deputy President of the State of Palestine

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, congratulated HE Hussein al-Sheikh on his appointment as vice-president of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Deputy President of the State of Palestine.

In a written message, the Secretary-General expressed his confidence that the new role and responsibilities taken will serve as a bridge to strengthen Palestinian national unity, based on commitment to the PLO, the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, its political program and international commitments, which constitute a strong guarantee to confront the enormous challenges imposed by the Israeli occupation and an important pillar for moving forward to enable the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights to their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Secretary-General also reaffirmed the OIC’s permanent and unwavering support for the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause, wishing Hussein al-Sheikh every success in his national mission and Palestine and its people freedom, sovereignty, and independence.
