Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura has taken the stand to testify against her former boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs as the music mogul’s sex-trafficking trial enters its second day.
Ventura recounted when Combs allegedly asked her to participate in “Freak Offs,” during which Combs directed her to have sex with an escort or other third-party individual. Ventura felt she couldn’t say no, she told the court, fearing violence and blackmail.
“Sean controlled a lot of my life, whether it was career, the way I dressed, everything, everything. I just didn’t have much say in it at the time,” she testified.
Day one of the high-profile trial ended with prosecutors calling two witnesses to the stand, including Daniel Phillip, a male escort, providing a graphic description of these alleged “freak offs” involving Combs and Ventura.
Monday’s second witness, Los Angeles police officer Israel Florez, testified that Combs attempted to bribe him into staying quiet after he reviewed surveillance footage of the 55-year-old rapper assaulting Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.
Combs is facing sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy charges. He was arrested in September 2024 as federal authorities alleged Combs and his associates threatened, abused, and coerced victims “to fulfill his sexual desires” between 2004 and 2024. Combs has denied any accusations of wrongdoing.
Cassie Ventura addresses hotel abuse tape
Cassie Ventura testified about the widely circulated footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs beating her at an InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Ventura said she was having a “Freak Off” before the tape, which she says involved her “performing” with escorts for Combs.
“We were having an encounter called a ‘Freak Off’ and I was leaving there,” she testified.

Cassie Ventura recounts Diddy’s ‘Freak Offs,’ describes threats of violence and blackmail
Cassie Ventura testified about Sean “Diddy” Combs’s alleged “Freak Offs” while on the stand today, according to the Associated Press.
Ventura described “Freak Offs” as sexual encounters in which Combs would have her “perform” for him with an escort or another third-party individual.
Ventura said she was 22 when Combs first proposed the idea to her.
“I just remember my stomach falling to my butt,” she said. “Just the nervousness and confusion in that moment.”
Ventura said she felt like she couldn’t say no, saying she was concerned about violence. Ventura also described Combs blackmailing her with pictures of videos of her encounters with escorts.
“Sean controlled a lot of my life, whether it was career, the way I dressed, everything, everything. I just didn’t have much say in it at the time,” she said.

Cassie Ventura testifies about Diddy’s alleged abuse
Cassie Ventura, 38, testified that Sean “Diddy” Combs physically abused her during their decade-long relationship.
“Yes, they were violent arguments, usually resulted in physical abuse and dragging, different things,” she told prosecutors. “He would mash my head, knock me over, drag me, kick me.”
When asked how frequently these incidents happened, she responded: “Too frequently.”
“Usually I would get knots on my forehead, black eyes, red eyes, bruises all over my body, it just depended,” she added.

Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, takes the stand
Sean “Diddy” Combs’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, has taken the stand in Manhattan federal court.
She dated Combs on and off from 2005 to 2019. In 2023, she filed a bombshell lawsuit against Combs, alleging she was raped, abused and sex trafficked.
Ventura, who is eight months pregnant, walked to the stand in front of the jury. This comes after the defense argued she should already be seated at the stand when the jury entered because her pregnancy could create sympathy among jurors.
Ventura’s husband also entered the courtroom to watch her, even after the defense tried to bar him from doing so. However, he will have to leave if Ventura testifies about an incident in which Combs allegedly raped her in 2018, the judge said.

Cassie Ventura’s testimony coming up as defense seeks to bar her husband from court
Cassie Ventura is set to take the stand soon, but Sean “Diddy” Combs’s defense team wants to bar her husband, Alex Fine, from entering the courtroom to watch her speak.
“We’d like Ms. Ventura’s husband to not be allowed in the courtroom during her testimony, we may need to call him as a witness later, depending on the direct,” defense attorney Anna Maria Estevao said, according to Inner City Press.
The defense also cited a “threatening” text Fine allegedly sent Combs after Ventura sued the music mogul in 2023.
Ventura is Combs’s ex-girlfriend. She is expected to testify about his alleged abuse against her.

Daniel Phillip ends testimony
Daniel Phillip has ended his testimony, leaving the stand as the court takes a 10-minute break.
Phillip maintained that every time he had sex with Cassie Ventura, he had been paid and directed by Sean “Diddy” Combs. This came as the defense tried to paint his interactions with Ventura as consensual, NBC News reports.

Daniel Phillip cross-examined about Diddy’s alleged assault of Cassie Ventura
Daniel Phillip, a male escort who says he was paid to have sex with Cassie Ventura while Sean “Diddy” Combs watched, is being cross-examined by the defense.
Combs’s attorneys are also trying to highlight discrepancies in Phillip’s story.
Phillip said he saw Combs throw a liquor bottle at Ventura while at her New York apartment. Combs then dragged her by her hair into the bedroom, Phillip testified, after which he heard Ventura screaming.
Phillip said Ventura ran to him and appeared scared afterward.
“She was shaking uncontrollably, obviously afraid, and we started talking for a while before we ended up kissing each other,” Phillip said, according to The Washington Post.
Phillip says Combs came out of the bedroom and asked, “Are you guys ready to continue?” But defense attorney Xavier Donaldson said that police reports state Combs told Phillip to “get the **** out” after he came out of the bedroom, according to the Post. Phillip said he doesn’t remember telling police that.
Donaldson also pressed Phillip on whether he had feelings for Ventura, NBC News reports. Phillip said he had a bond with her, but they did not have a relationship.

Diddy’s attorney doesn’t want the jury to see Cassie Ventura’s pregnancy
Cassie Ventura, a star witness and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’s ex-girlfriend, is pregnant — but defense attorney Marc Agnifilo is concerned that could be a source of “sympathy” for jurors.
Agnifilo doesn’t want Ventura, who is eight months pregnant, to walk in while the jury can see her. Instead, he wants her seated on the stand before the jury enters.
“Because I think there is a prejudicial quality,” Agnifilo told the judge on Tuesday. “Pregnancy is beautiful and wonderful. It also is a source of potential sympathy.”
Ventura is set to testify today about the alleged abuse she suffered from Combs.
